Week of July 21, 2025
Summer is flying by, and just like that, we’re approaching
the end of July.
It’s been a busy year on the legislative front. I want to
recognize and thank our Government Affairs team for dedicating countless hours
at the State House, advocating on behalf of our industry’s priorities. Their
efforts have helped move key legislation forward:
- LD
297 – An Act Regarding the Management of Oversized Bulky Waste
has
passed and received another two-year extension.
- LD
25 – The $50 million bond for Wastewater Treatment Facility Planning and
Infrastructure Projects
has been carried over to the next session.
On the federal side, MEWEA has sent a letter to our entire
Congressional Delegation urging them to oppose proposed
cuts to the State
Revolving Fund (SRF)
. These reductions would be detrimental to our
infrastructure and long-term planning efforts. We encourage anyone who is able
to also send letters to your representatives in support of maintaining SRF
funding.
Meanwhile, our Operations Challenge Team continues to
train diligently in preparation for their competition at
WEFTEC this fall.
If you're interested in joining the team or supporting in any way, please

Thank you for all the work you do every day to support and

Warm regards,
