Course Information:
Security has failed. Every aspect of it. This day long training session starts with understanding why security has failed and what it takes to secure yourself and your workplace against today’s real, and dangerous threats. So…it’s time to unlearn everything you have been led to believe keeps us secure; and learn what truly does. This is not about what to do…it's about why and how and what is critical.
This training day will enhance your security (personally, family, and workplace) beyond anything you’ve ever done!

- The decision-making process and how to master it
- The dynamics of an incident
- Hallways/offices/gathering areas
- Your building is the high ground
- Running Towards or away from your adversary?
- De-escalation skills
- Recognizing signs of violence
- The Mind of the Criminal: Why you must understand how they think, what their goals are, and how to win the mental battle against them
- How criminals choose their victims
- What to expect from responding law enforcement
- Basics of hostage negotiation and survival
- The difference between peaceful protest and riots and tips for avoidance
Cancellation Policy for MMA Hybrid In-Person/Virtual Events:
Cancellations must be submitted using this Cancellation form to cancel your registration for an event.
- Cancellations received before 7/9/26 will be assessed a $15 administrative fee for processing.
- Registration changes (switching from in-person to virtual or vice versa) will be assessed a $15 administrative fee for processing.
- Cancellations received on/after 7/9/26 will be charged 50% of the course fee.
- Any registrant who does not attend and does not cancel their registration (i.e., no-show) and any cancellation received the day of the event will be charged the full registration fee.
- Registration substitutions are permitted for registrants within the same municipality/organization and will be assessed a $15 substitution fee. Please email [email protected] to request a registration substitution. Registration transfers to a future training offering are not permitted.
