The City of Brewer is seeking a team-oriented individual with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude to fill the position of Water Treatment Plant Operator within the Brewer Water Department.
Water Treatment Plant Operators are responsible for providing drinking water and fire protection services to residents and businesses of the great City of Brewer and portions of our neighboring communities in Eddington, Holden and Orrington.
Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in the drinking water field or water treatment operations is preferred however; the city is willing to provide training and professional development for the right candidate.
- Mechanical aptitude or experience with water system maintenance, installation, or repair is desirable.
- Ability to work independently, often alone, with strong accountability and reliability.
- Class III Water Treatment License preferred however we are willing to train the right individual to obtain their license within the required 3 years.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check, and possess a valid driver’s license.
