Ogunquit Sewer District Full-Time Electrician

Ogunquit Sewer District is looking for an experienced Full-Time Electrician. The purpose of this position is to perform skilled electrical, instrumentation, controls, and equipment maintenance at the District’s wastewater treatment plant and pump stations. This position is also responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, modifying, and installing electrical and control systems and related treatment equipment; performs general maintenance, and participates in emergency and on-call response.

This position reports to the Superintendent. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, and installs electrical systems, motors, pumps, generators, controls, and related equipment.
• Maintains and troubleshoots PLC, SCADA, instrumentation, and other electronic control systems.
• Diagnoses electrical, electronic, and control system failures and determines appropriate repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Reads and maintains electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment documentation, and maintenance records.
• Installs, modifies, and commissions new electrical and control equipment.
• Performs general mechanical, plumbing, pipefitting, welding, and fabrication work as needed.
• Inspects and maintains wastewater pump stations, treatment equipment, buildings, structures, and grounds.
• Assists with sewer and manhole maintenance and repairs when required.
• Maintains spare parts, tools, and maintenance inventory and assists with purchasing materials and equipment.
• Works closely with operations and other District personnel to coordinate maintenance and minimize equipment downtime.
• Responds to alarms, equipment failures, emergencies, and participates in weekend, holiday, and on-call duties.

The successful candidate must have solid interpersonal skills, the ability to get along with others well, be dependable, and respond to management direction. In addition, the candidate must have a, a high school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in industrial electrical, electronics, or related maintenance work; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. Must possess appropriate driver’s license and a valid Maine Electrician’s license, or the ability to obtain one within a time period set by the Superintendent.

Ogunquit Sewer District offers an excellent benefit package, and pay is commensurate with experience. The pay range is $38.00 per hour to $47.00 per hour. For consideration, please submit an application, and resume to:
