Wastewater Operator Certification

The Maine Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) contracts with New England Interstate Water Pollution Control Commission (NEIWPCC) to administer the Maine Wastewater Operator Certification Program through the NEIWPCC South Portland/JETCC office. DEP and NEIWPCC work closely to ensure the Program operates efficiently and effectively.  These duties include coordinating certificate renewal, recordkeeping, and applications for wastewater certification exams. NEWEA Voluntary Certification

The New England Water Environment Association (NEWEA) offers individuals the opportunity to become certified for Wastewater Collection Systems Operator and Laboratory Analyst.
