Engineer - Bath Public Works

The City of Bath is seeking applicants for a Public Works Engineer. The Engineer performs complex administrative and professional work in planning, designing and engineering City projects, including environmental, sewer, storm drain, street, traffic control, landfill/recycling and other related services.

Bath has steadily gained national recognition as an ideal location to live, work, and play. Unique traits include its long tidal shoreline, historic infrastructure, state roads including Route 1, and its small footprint's mix of urban, rural, and commercial areas. The City's Public Works Department is responsible for streets and sidewalks; solid waste and recycling, including a municipally managed landfill; sewer and storm water systems, and a water pollution control facility with pumping stations.

A qualified candidate has a degree in civil engineering and is a registered Professional Engineer in Maine. They have four years of experience with engineering and project management; experience in stormwater management and municipal projects is preferred. Necessary skills include excellent communication, understanding maps and plans and familiarity with GIS. The ideal candidate has considerable knowledge of best practices for public infrastructure planning and design; and working knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to environmental protection and public safety.   

Starting salary range is $77,700-89,300, depending on experience. The City offers MPERS and excellent health and wellness benefits.
